An Insight Into The Way That The Carnivorous Plants Trap Insects

A detailed look at nature's creations can leave you utterly entertained. Amid diverse other creations of nature are carnivorous plants. Unlike most plants that use daylight to make their food, carnivorous plants trap insects and other organisms for their food. Different carnivorous plants use different methods to catch their prey.

One of the common trapping mechanism used by countless carnivorous plants is the flypaper trapping mechanism. Here in the plant secretes a glue like substance through their mucilage glands. So, as swiftly as an insect sits on the plant, it is trapped. Plants like sundew plants and butterworts use this trapping mechanism to trap insects. Insects like flies, mosquitoes and fungus gnats can be simply caught using this mechanism.

Certain carnivorous plants use trapping mechanisms that seem like pitchers to capture insects as well as larger organisms. They have pitcher like structures which can trap larger organisms like rats and rodents. There is a long chamber that leads to the pitcher and when an organism sits on the plant, it slides down this chamber into the pitcher. These acid filled pitchers then digest the animal without any problems at all.

The snap trap mechanism is another common trapping mechanism utilised by carnivorous plants. Here the plant opens up its leaves and waits for an insect to come and settle on them. And the moment it does, the plant closes in on itself, trapping the organism inside. The leaves remain closed till the insect has been completely digested. Plants such as the Venus flytrap and Waterwheel make use of this mechanism to catch prey.

Yet another trapping mechanism of the carnivorous plants that's unknown to several to most is the lobster pot trap. These carnivorous plants trap the prey by giving an easy entry to the prey. The prey isn't authorized an exit once it enters. As the prey or the catch enters the plant, it loses its way to come out and so remains encircled. It has been observed that such trapping mechanism is generally followed by the aquatic plants. Some plants that follow this kind of trapping system are genlisa plants, corkscrew plants and many more.

There are some carnivorous plants which are claimed to be borderline carnivores rather than complete carnivores. They do not consume the prey, but instead absorb all the nutriments of the surrounded insect before releasing them. Plants such as the Catopsis Barteroniana and the ibicella Lutea are examples of the borderline carnivore plants.

With this, it would not be untrue to say that nature has created some magnificent creations that are outside the understanding of mankind.

Why would a loving god design plants that trap animals and slowly digest them alive?

Is such a god worthy of worship?

He was either unable or unwilling to design all plants to survive without feeding on non-plant life, and, indeed, intelligently designed the various types of traps carnivorous plants use to secure their prey according to the beliefs of his followers.
soldier: oh, so he tortures animals to represent equilibrium. Think about it - if you can.
peabody: If you can't answer the question, don't answer it.
farmercec: wait, so is Satan an intelligent designer too?
Joe: Who designed them that way, then?
cynique: is it justification to use his powers for evil? You're arguing that, in essence, might makes right.

in the beginning, there was no death, when sin took a hold, then the death began...it was the creation of the devil...

edit : two hours later
yes dream stuff, he is, he can appear as an angle of light, a messenger of God of Heaven to deceive the people, to lead them astray, and he will do any thing he can to accomplish that.
